At the heart of good governance is a spirit of service to the community.  As a Pacific nation, New Zealand seeks to contribute to a shared Pacific destiny, by supporting Public Service Commissioners from across the region to share best practice and capability building, develop strong networks, and build shared solutions.

This exciting new role, based in the New Zealand State Services Commission, provides an opportunity for you to be of service to Pacific Public Service Commissioners.

Leading a small team, and working closely with a Governing Board and key stakeholders across the Pacific and across many New Zealand public sector agencies, this role will build long lasting relationships to respectfully support Pacific Public Service Commissioners by understanding their specific needs; their cultural and historical context; facilitating the sharing of information, policies, and practices; and working under the leadership of Pacific Public Service Commissioners to achieve results.

We are looking for a leader who has a heart for the Pacific; deep respect for and an understanding of the many Pacific nations; who can develop and model partnering approaches to support mutual learning between Pacific nations; and ensure solutions are embedded in a deep appreciation of Pacific culture and practice.

This fixed term position will be based in the SSC office in Wellington and appointed for a term of up to five years.
