The Carbon Neutral Government Programme (CNGP) has been set up to accelerate the reduction of emissions within the public sector. The programme's aim is to make a number of organisations within the public sector carbon neutral from 2025. It was launched in December 2020

Entity-specific requirements may be contained in a Crown entity’s establishment legislation

Ministerial expectations:

Minister for the Public Service and Minister of Finance have issued a Direction under section 107 of the Crown Entities Act - All Crown Agents (as referenced in the Crown Entities Act 2004, Schedule 1 Part 1) must give effect to all of clause 5 – Requirements.
