The Trust Framework Authority
The Trust Framework Authority’s responsibilities under the Digital Identity Services Trust Framework Act 2023 (the Act) which include:
- accrediting digital identity service providers and services, and maintaining a list of those accredited on the Trust Register
- making sure accredited providers meet the legal requirements of the Trust Framework through the testing and monitoring of compliance
- assessing complaints about accredited providers and investigating breaches of the law
- managing the accreditation mark for the Trust Framework
- monitoring the performance and effectiveness of the accreditation regime.
The Trust Framework Board
The Trust Framework Board’s responsibilities under the Act include:
- recommending rules and regulations for the Trust Framework to the Minister and in the case of the rules, reviewing them at reasonable intervals and recommending updates
- publishing guidance and educating providers as well as the public
- monitoring the performance and effectiveness of the Trust Framework
- carrying out any other functions given to the Board by the Act or by the Minister.
The Māori Advisory Group
The Māori Advisory Group gives advice to the Trust Framework Board on Māori interests and knowledge as they relate to the operation of the trust framework. Key documents are below.
