Review of a series of complaints made to Fire and Emergency New Zealand
In 2022 the Public Service Commission conducted anindependent review of Fire and Emergency New Zealand’s workplace culture and complaint handling practices.
The review was requested by Fire and Emergency board chair Rebecca Keoghan MNZM and was prompted in part by a particular case of alleged poor complaint handling by FENZ. Ms Keoghan also asked the Commission to assist in conducting an independent review of that case. This was carved out of the review and dealt with as a separate and subsequent matter. Mr Simon Mount KC was appointed by the Commission to lead the case review.
