The finalists of Te Hāpai Hapori | Spirit of Service Awards 2026 were announced today.
The Spirit of Service Awards recognise initiatives and individuals across the public sector who are delivering great outcomes for New Zealand and New Zealanders. Finalists have been selected across 6 categories celebrating excellence in public policy, better outcomes, innovation, Māori Crown relationships, public sector governance and young leadership.
This year's finalists include initiatives that are improving public health outcomes, strengthening infrastructure planning, using technology in new ways, supporting Māori Crown relationships and delivering better services for communities. Individual finalists are also being recognised for their outstanding leadership and contribution to public service.
Winners will be announced at the awards event on 1 October 2026.
