Lifting accountability across the system

We will support our kaitiaki to grow and develop to their full potential. By lifting accountability across the system, we can ensure workforce and career development programmes improve outcomes for women, Māori, Pacific and ethnic communities.

Outcome

There is equitable provision and access to development programmes for Māori, Pacific and ethnic communities. We will commit to long-term investments that support Māori, Pacific and ethnic communities' aspirations to achieve equitable outcomes.

Our Actions

We will establish a workforce development community of practice for Māori, Pacific and ethnic communities to share best practices and bring the voices of diverse communities to decision makers.

We will develop a system evaluation framework to evaluate the success of development programmes specifically targeted for Māori, Pacific and ethnic public servants, including disabled and Rainbow public servants who are part of these communities.

We will improve data collection on participation in development programmes to accurately monitor development programme uptake and outcomes achieved and whether the development programmes are accessible to participants.

We will assess whether development opportunities are culturally appropriate, accessible and realise new opportunities that support the aspirations of Māori, Pacific and ethnic public servants.

We will co-design and develop new and tailored culturally responsive and accessible programmes where there is an identified need.
